Strategic Routes for Euro-Asian Trade: ACIK Hosts Webinar on Kazakh Logistics in 2026
On March 10, 2026, the Association of Italian-Kazakh Trade ACIK organized the institutional webinar “Strategic Routes for Euro-Asian Trade: Kazakh Logistics in 2026. Infrastructure, Multimodal Connectivity and Certifications”, an event dedicated to the evolution of logistics routes connecting Europe and Central Asia and Kazakhstan's growing role in the development of new Eurasian trade corridors.
The initiative brought together institutional representatives, international logistics operators, and industry experts to analyze the ongoing transformations in regional transport networks, with a specific focus on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, the Middle Corridor and the development of multimodal transport solutions between European markets and Central Asia.
The webinar was opened by Olzhas Shyntaev, ACIK representative, who outlined the initiative's goals and the association's role in promoting economic dialogue and cooperation between Italian and Kazakh companies and international partners. ACIK continues to serve as a meeting platform for institutions and businesses interested in developing trade relations between Europe and Kazakhstan, facilitating the exchange of information, expertise, and investment opportunities.
The first part of the event, dedicated to Institutional Insights, featured institutional representatives committed to economic promotion and infrastructure development. Altynai Mukanova, representing Kazakh Invest in Italy, presented the framework of investment opportunities and tools available for companies interested in developing logistics and commercial projects with Kazakhstan. Following her, Yerbol Bukharbayev, Chairman of the Kazakhstan Association of Free Economic Zones and Head of the Regional Office for Central Asia of the World Free Zones Organization , illustrated the role of Special Economic Zones in developing the national logistics ecosystem and strengthening Eurasian trade corridors.
A central part of the webinar was dedicated to the practical experiences of industry operators and ACIK partners.
Natalie Andriyevskaya, Country Manager for Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan at Blue Bell Shipping LLC, provided an overview of Kazakhstan’s logistical accessibility, analyzing international routes, transport infrastructure, customs procedures, and regulatory aspects affecting cross-border shipments.
Next, Christian Hirschmann, CEO of Azurite Logistics Europe, examined the increasing strategic importance of the Middle Corridor as an emerging alternative for trade flows between Europe and Asia. His presentation highlighted how shifts in global supply chains and geopolitical dynamics are accelerating the development of new Eurasian routes, despite certain operational challenges along the corridor.
Regarding international transport operations, Karina Mariti, Chartering & Operations Manager at ISS Palumbo, illustrated the key aspects of managing transport tenders and organizing shipments to Kazakhstan from various parts of the world, with a focus on partner selection and the management of "out-of-gauge" and heavy-lift cargo. Tulegen Daulenbayev, General Director of Heavy Cargo Transportation, concluded the operational segment by sharing the perspective of regional operators in supporting the country's infrastructural development and the increase in transport volumes along the New Silk Road.
The final session of the webinar focused on the certifications required for export and logistics operations in Eurasian markets. Specialists from SERCONS explained the main requirements related to EAC and CE certifications, highlighting the crucial role of regulatory compliance for companies operating within the Eurasian Economic Union markets.
