Rome, October 14, 2025

During the official visit to Italy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yermek Kosherbayev, ACIK reaffirmed its role as the leading platform for economic cooperation between the two countries.

In meetings with representatives of major Italian companies active in the energy and industrial engineering sectors,including Maire Group, Ansaldo Energia, and Allied International Group,  Minister Kosherbayev expressed his appreciation to ACIK and its President, Marco Beretta, praised as a true friend of Kazakhstan, who for over twenty years has been actively building commercial and investment bridges between Italy and Kazakhstan.

Among the key topics discussed was ACIK’s initiative to establish the “Kazakh-Italian Trade House”, a strategic project launched under the direct leadership of President Marco Beretta and supported by the Kazakh Government.

The Kazakh-Italian Trade House: a Platform for Business

The Kazakh-Italian Trade House will serve as a permanent center for economic promotion, B2B relations, trade events, and investor assistance, providing a concrete infrastructure for Italian companies seeking access to the Kazakh market and, more broadly, to Central Asia.

“The Milan Trade House will become the main reference point for those who believe in the future of Italy–Kazakhstan relations. It is a platform for opportunity, collaboration, and shared growth,” said Marco Beretta, President of ACIK. “Our goal is to build an ecosystem where companies, institutions, and investors can engage directly and effectively.”

The initiative will act as a one-stop hub designed to facilitate Italian companies’ entry into the local market and to foster long-term industrial and commercial partnerships.

Through the Trade House, ACIK will offer companies:

  • B2B Zone: dedicated areas for business meetings, presentations, negotiations, and matchmaking between Italian and Kazakh companies;
  • Conference and workshop spaces: fully equipped rooms for seminars, events, and hybrid meetings, supported by state-of-the-art digital communication technology connecting Italy with international partners;
  • Representation and local support services: a multilingual team (Italian, Russian, Kazakh) capable of managing documentation, institutional contacts, and commercial localization processes;
  • Institutional networking: privileged access to major Kazakh institutions, relevant ministries, and private-sector stakeholders, leveraging ACIK’s well-established local network;
  • Promotion and visibility: ongoing support for Italian companies to strengthen their presence in Kazakhstan through communication initiatives, events, and cooperation programs.

A Step Forward in Bilateral Relations

The Kazakh-Italian Trade House initiative follows up on the commitments made during the visit of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to Astana in May 2025 and forms part of the renewed strategy for economic cooperation between the two countries. Over the past five years, Italy has remained among Kazakhstan’s top three European trade partners, with bilateral trade exceeding €14 billion in 2024, and growing diversification beyond hydrocarbons into engineering, manufacturing, agritech, and renewable energy.

Italian investment in Kazakhstan continues to expand, supported by strong industrial cooperation and increasing SME participation. Minister Kosherbayev welcomed the Trade House initiative as a timely step toward enhancing economic diplomacy and private-sector engagement, emphasizing that “such platforms turn political dialogue into real business opportunities.”

This meeting confirms the central role of ACIK in consolidating ties between Italy and Kazakhstan, promoting a modern, integrated vision of industrial and commercial relations, fully aligned with the goals outlined during Prime Minister Meloni’s visit to Astana last May.
