Procedure for arrival in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan

All persons arriving in Kazakhstan on flights from abroad undergo thermometry, questionnaire, and submit a certificate of passing the COVID-19 test by PCR, selected no earlier than 72 hours at the time of crossing the state border of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Persons who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the absence of Certificate of Entry are not allowed. Arriving persons with a body temperature within the normal range, presenting a certificate, are explained about the possible symptoms of COVID-19 with the receipt of the corresponding acknowledgement, they continue to follow their destination.

The death penalty was abolished in Kazakhstan also thanks to the dialogue with Italy

Kazakhstan officially abolished the death penalty on January 2, 2021. This was done by the signing by Qasym-Jomart Toqayev, head of State, of the law on the ratification of the Second Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, which obliges the participating States. The death penalty (as for many years in Italy) had only theoretical application, in wartime for extremely serious crimes of a military nature.   Not everyone knows that Italy has played a leading role in encouraging, through dialogue, the largest country in Central Asia to finally leave behind this legacy of the Soviet era.

Changes in the concessional business lending program in Kazakhstan

The National Bank of Kazakhstan has made changes to the program of concessional lending to small and medium-sized businesses.  This was done as part of the execution of the order of Qasym-Jomart Toqayev, the head of state of Kazakhstan. Changes made: - an additional 200 billion tenge was allocated for lending to large businesses and entrepreneurs in the agro-industrial complex (AIC), affected by the state of emergency; - the program has been extended until December 31, 2021 inclusive; - the term for the development of money - until March 31, 2021 inclusive.

It is proposed to exempt SMEs from taxes for two years in Kazakhstan

Senate deputies of the Parliament of Kazakhstan proposed to exempt small and medium-sized businesses from VAT and social tax for two years.  On behalf of the President of the country, a retail tax of 3% of income is being introduced.  The senators considered the draft law “On amendments and additions to the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan“ On taxes and other obligatory payments to the budget ”(Tax Code) and returned it to the Mazhilis.  This amendment provides improvement of tax policy, contributing to the simplification of doing business and attracting investment in Kazakhstan.

Period of permitted stay in Kazakhstan extended until November 1 for foreigners

This decision was made due to the restrictions caused by the pandemic, due to which many foreign citizens were unable to leave Kazakhstan on time. Foreigners in Kazakhstan have been extended the period of permitted stay in Kazakhstan until November 1.  This was announced by Sabyrzhan Seitzhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Migration Service Committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan: "Due to the coronavirus pandemic, many international flights are still suspended, and the borders of states are closed.
