More than 878 thousand people received a vaccine against coronavirus in Kazakhstan

Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced as of April 25, 878,067 people received the first component of the coronavirus vaccine in Kazakhstan, both components - 157,010. The largest number of those who received the first component of the vaccine is in Almaty (176 823 people). This is almost a fifth of all vaccinated in the country. The three leaders are also Almaty region (118 809) and Nur-Sultan (87 714). Among those lagging behind in terms of vaccination rates are Atyrau (15 287), Mangistau (18 746) and Kyzylorda (21 208) regions.

Imanbek Roses Remix Wins Grammy Award

Remix of Imanbek Zeykenov (Imanbek), Kazakhstani, for the song Roses SAINt JHN won the Grammy award. The 63rd Grammy Awards Ceremony is taking place online.  Imanbek, who became the first Kazakhstani to be nominated for a Grammy, won the award. "Thanks to my mom, my dad, thanks to my team, thanks to manager Kirill. Thanks to the Grammy," said Imanbek Zeykenov after the announcement of the winner in the Best Remix 2021 nomination. Note that in Imanbek’s remix became a hit and spent more than 20 weeks in a row in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.

Monthly payments from the unified national pension fund will be calculated in a new way in Kazakhstan

From April 1, 2021, Kazakhstan will use a new method for calculating the amount of pension payments. The size of the monthly pension payment from the UNPF is determined as 1/12 of the annual amount of pension payments, calculated in accordance with the methodology.  From January 1, 2021, the monthly pension payment from the UNPF must be at least 70% of the subsistence minimum (previously, at least 54% of the subsistence minimum).  Thus, in 2021, the size of the monthly pension payment from the UNPF in 2021 is at least 24,011.

Luca Attanasio, Italian Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, was killed in an armed attack by unknown assailants

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) confirmed the death of the diplomat.  Luca Attanasio was reportedly killed during a visit to the eastern part of the country while traveling in a convoy of World Food Program (WFP) vehicles. "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms with deep pain the death of Italian Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Luca Attanasio, and a soldier of the Carabinieri corps in Goma today," the statement said. The diplomat died in hospital from his wounds.
