The second wave of coronavirus began in Kazakhstan

Yerlan Kiyasov, Vice-Minister of Health, Chief State Sanitary Doctor, announced the second wave of COVID-19 in Kazakhstan, at a briefing at the CCS:

“We already understand that it’s the second wave, although we do not divide it into the first, second wave. In fact, there is a certain increase in the incidence. We can presumably say that we are observing the development of the situation, not pessimistic, but real, where, observing the growth, we can say  that we are in the stage of development of the second wave, because the increase in the incidence is wave-like. “

He also replied that “the question of lockdown is also not worth it”:

“Kazakhstan has moved from the “green” zone to the “yellow” one.  Two regions – Kostanay and Akmola – moved from the “yellow” zone to the “red” one.  At the moment, the cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, North Kazakhstan, Pavlodar and Atyrau regions are in the “yellow” zone.  In January, the West Kazakhstan region moved from the “green” zone to the “yellow” one.  The rest of the areas are in the “green” zone”, said the Chief State Sanitary Doctor.
