Kassym-Jomart Tokayev ordered to reconsider quarantine restrictions
President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, has ordered the government to review strict quarantine restrictions on small and medium-sized businesses, Tengrinews reports.
“Apparently, COVID-19 in omicron form is becoming a general phenomenon, and it seems that many, at least the majority, will be forced to get sick,” the President said at the meeting with business representatives in Nur-Sultan.
Thus, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to reconsider the strict quarantine measures for SME, especially in the service sector.
“Under these conditions, strict quarantine measures against small and medium-sized businesses, especially in the service sector, how rational are they, how practical are they? I appeal to the government, reconsider all this. Why do we need to stifle SMEs in these conditions and practically create unequal conditions in the economy “, – said the head of state.
